A fun and educational way for your class to develop speed and fluency in all four operations with these games using only a deck of cards!

I used these in my Maths groups or rotations (and during Parent Learning Journey evenings) and my students loved them.

Allows for differentiation - possible variations of some games have been included. This resource includes full game instructions which can be laminated for accessibility and durability and recording sheets where required.

CARD GAMES

1. Make A Number to 20 - Addition facts to 20 using two cards.

2. Make A Number to 30 - Addition facts to 30 using three cards.

3. Make A Number to 60 - Use one or multiple operations (and brackets if needed) to make a number up to 60 using five cards.

4. Make A Number to 1 000 000- Multiply numbers by powers of 10 and add the products to make the biggest number that is also less than one million.

5. Make A Number to 1000 - Multiply numbers by decimals (0.1 and 0.01) and 1, 10, 100 and add the products to make the biggest number possible which is also less than 1000!

6. Three Card Draw - Make any number in the Three Card Draw Table using only three cards but any operation!

7. Target Number (Addition & Subtraction) - Also requires two dice. Set the target number and use addition and subtraction with five cards to make a number as close as possible to the target.

8. Target Number (All 4 Operations) - Requires two to three dice. Set the target number and use five cards to make a number as close as possible to the target. Use any operation and brackets if needed!

9. Fast Facts - Speedy times tables facts. Or modify to focus on subtraction and addition facts.
